Gigi Borgese

From the Bay Area, CA

Currently Based in Brooklyn, NY

I am a practicing multidisciplinary artist based in New York City. My work draws on my personal experience as a prominent online figure as a teenager. In 2025, when I was 20, I discovered there was an online community of 100+ men who had been making photoshopped and AI-generated pornographic material of me since I was 15 years old. My art explores this disconnection, interpreting the internet as an absurd physical space to inhabit. I often place natural objects alongside imagery that invokes the visuals of internet culture. I am interested in this contrast between the natural world and the unnatural virtual sphere; natural urges and how technology has bastardized them. As humanity continues to advance technologically, we grow further away from the fruits of our existence and genuine human connection. Despite being confined to a screen, this new visual language permeates everything that surrounds us.

I am currently studying for my Bachelor's in Art at the City College of New York, receiving the Adelaide Jablonsky Award in 2025 and the Connor Merritt Award in 2026. I was a finalist in the 2026 Astor Place Plaza Art Competition hosted by the East Village Alliance. I am also involved in the New York music scene, creating atmospheric graphic design work and physical props for various bands.
